Getting to Rovaniemi
Rovaniemi Airport (RVN) has direct flights from Helsinki year-round, and seasonal direct flights from London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and other European hubs. The city centre is 10 minutes from the airport.
How many days to plan
Rovaniemi works well as a 2-4 day base. It's the logical entry point - the airport, Santa Claus Village, and the widest range of day tours are all here.

Levi. The two destinations complement each other naturally: Rovaniemi for Santa experiences, the Arctic Circle, and city-based aurora hunts; Levi for deeper wilderness. Levi's tykky forests, private snowmobile trails, and small-group husky safaris feel genuinely remote. Fewer tourists, more authentic Lapland.
Best time to visit
December-January for maximum darkness and festive atmosphere. October-November and March for aurora with less tourist pressure. Husky, reindeer, and snowmobile season runs December through March.
